Great format. Love seeing the content however you can capture it. 👊🏼
You guys did some nice work! What a tremendous difference. Much more visually appealing.
Dude, get as much oil as ya can from Walmart, save $$
A workbrow grapple for the excavator would be a useful tool for these types of projects. Mike with Outdoors with the Morgan’s uses it quite a bit for brush and small stump removal. Nice job!
Looks great Jake! That mini excavator is definitely the right tool for the job.
Nice work! I tell the guys at my work to always try something new..... but keep your wife😂
I've had bad batches of roll pins.
Nothing better than getting the second job of digging drain tile once the house floods!
I’m with Elliot good job tho but most likely b back to do future work
All I did was what the customer wanted! I suggested a catch basin with a proper drain pipe away from the house but they wanted to see how it worked
How's the AC been on the Kubota after you recharged it? Another awesome job and video Jake.
Didn’t work… replacing the ac compressor on Sunday and recharging the entire system 😂
Good job 👍 I'm not an equipment operator, but it looks like your plan to level a trail across the upper section, move the material, then fill the trail back in worked well 😊
What is the plan for all the water that's going to flow to the foundation of the house now??
The homeowner said they have a perforated drain pipe that dumps to the driveway… I suggested a catch basin and actual drain pipe but they wanted to see how it worked out 🤷🏼♂️

What is the plan for all the water that's going to flow to the foundation of the house now??
Hey Jake how are you doing I'm okay I guess love your videos and a great job hope Chris is doing well
Nice job, My teeth came loose on my Kubota also, i just welded them on.
I’m just an armchair excavation guy but you may have wanted to put in a little swale to divert water from the house- or maybe it’s already there and the camera did no justice…. With the siding going all the way to the ground, and a 20 plus degree slope, runoff might become an issue there. Again, I’m not hating, I think you guys did good, it’s just an observation.
The homeowner said they have a perforated drain pipe that dumps to the driveway… I suggested a catch basin and actual drain pipe but they wanted to see how it worked out 🤷🏼♂️
Not bad at all Jake for your first time better than some other people would do 😮😊❤
That's going to be quite the single slope sluice sending all the water down onto the house don't you think
I suggested the potential of a catch basin at the bottom with a drain pipe going past the house down the hill. They said rain water hadn’t been an issue in the past so they would wait and see. 🤷🏼♂️
That’s a good combo of machines!
If the bucket tooth doesn’t fit tight on the shank on the bucket, that could cause the pin to break. I kept loosing teeth on my bucket and just said to heck with it and welded them on. I realize that isn’t an ideal solution but it’s only for personal use on my property so it’ll take a long time for them to wear out. It’ll be a good excuse to buy a plasma cutter if I ever need to change them 😂
Yeah I’ve though of doing that, can always cut the welds but I’d rather find a good roll pin
@@DudeRanchDIY yea I don’t blame you. When you put the tooth on the bucket shank, is there play between the tooth and shank? You could have it built up with weld so it’s a tight fit.
I think you did a great job grading that area Jake. When you bought the excavator you mentioned you might do some side jobs other than firewood. I can see you doing a lot more of that type work.
Thanks dick! That’s the plan!
It seems like you might be able to cut down the steepness of the slope by using the rocks to build a retaining wall at the top of the slope. It also looks as if they need a swale between the house and the slope to keep the water away from the house and draining towards the street.
They didn’t want any rocks or walls, they said they had a perforated drain pipe to dump to the driveway, I suggested a catch basin with actual drain pipe but they wanted to see how it all worked out 🤷🏼♂️
Nice work Jake👍 will promote you from sloperator to operator 😅
That’s quite a promotion!
Great job. Looks great.
Thank you!
I straight gassed my 290 a couple of years back and it has been cast to the back of the shed since. Maybe this conversion might be just what it needs to bring it back to life. As a 290 - well it was a dog compared to my 181, 230, 660 and 880. The dud of the range. But a 390 might fill that gap nicely. Thanks for the vid.
Jake you are badass climbing those trees!
Thanks!
Put boards or logs down when driving off of a platform.
Good job and a good philosophy is "money destroys friendships"
I do not climb but liked you discussing you method of cutting back the red maple. Reimds me of guilty with treason videos. Maybe you can get your camera hooked up to your new arborist helmet too. Good safe job.
Thanks for the feedback! I got a new camera mount for the helmet!
I liked the video good to switch it up…..you’re a pro!
Glad you enjoyed heavy G
Too hot for me to work in that kind of weather! Nice job
Thanks Doug
Hi Jake, the format here was really good, learnt a ton of things, and felt highly engaged the whole time. Well done mate!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback
Another great video Jake. 👍
Thank you!
The tune for the 455 rancher is on the side you don’t have to take the top off
Nice job Jake! That chipper is handy, for sure! Hey, would love to see those ascenders up close to see how they work. Climbing gear is always interesting.
I’ll have to show them up close next time, they are pretty neat
Jake, wonderful video once again. i liked seeing a video with the ground POV, kind of took me back to my tree service time and watching the guys work the trees down. while working when hot is not easy and i hope yall were drinking plenty of water as yall were out there!!! Helping out friends in that way is way more rewarding than asking for money!!
Thanks buddy
Mic worked great where it was at love to watch
Thanks for watching
Where's smiley (Chris) been? Haven't seen him in the last few videos. All of your videos are great.
He’s been busy working on some stuff of his own
Allen family firewood just did a video about building wealth in the woodyard and this is a great example. Good friends willing to help each other in a pinch will go a lot longer than a few hundred bucks in the long run. That’s beach looks awesome can’t wait to see the box wedge eat that up!
That beech*
I agree! Favors/bartering is the best!
Wish I was 40 years younger this is fun
It’s fun but hard work!
Hey Jake, no need to apologise about the mic/camera work - it's interesting to see it from a wider angle, and you commentating while you are working at height is just as educational. Stay safe 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Always impressed by tree service workers 👍 I have a long history of emergency services and law enforcement rope work but never have had to contend with trees swaying in the wind and the inherit unpredictability of trees. Good video and good work. Stay safe man. Nice beech score, love it as firewood.
Thanks, rigging trees is interesting, take a lot of practice to predict!
Great job and video Jake always good to have bridges to cross you know the saying build bridges don’t burn them down 😮😊❤
Absolutely!
Climbing will tire you out. I still do a bit but only to set pull ropes.
Yep especially when it’s that hot!
Okay Jake I want to know what happened to Chris I haven't seen him in a long time what's going on with you two everything all right? I sure hope so you make a good pair anyway thanks for a great video again take care of yourself!
He’s been busy working on some stuff of his own
this summer will go into the history books. every week we have tornado warnings. best wishes but take the time to be safe. accidents take alot of time.
I'm confident I can replicate this! Thanks for the easy tutorial. If anyone is struggling to comprehend this, just play around with an Alaskan mill for a bit until you understand what the u-bolts are and what they do.
Just advise from real world experience when you are cutting on that side of the log . Between the log and excavator if she slips that log can get you before Quick !
Nice to see that you get treated well through Easton made I have the exact same machine as you do. I do not get the same quality of customer service. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a RUclips channel. I’ve called on several different things in the past over the last two years. Can’t even get them to call me back.
would love to buy one also and have been "kinda" looking. Mind sharing what you paid for it? Looks brand new for that many hours
